MUTTON STEAM ROAST STEP BY STEP

        MUTTON STEAM ROAST RECIPE

This delicious Mutton Steam Roast recipe is ready in about 30 minutes and is good for serving about 2-4 people. Follow all the steps recommended by me to get the best dish.



INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 kg mutton with bones
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon all spice powder
  • A pinch of nutmeg powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil as needed
  • Aluminum foil
  • INSTRUCTIONS:

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Wash the mutton and remove all excess fat.

Step 2

Place the pieces of beef in a large bowl.

Step 3

Add ginger garlic paste, vinegar and salt.

Step 4

Cover and leave for 2 hours then remove.

Step 5

Heat oil in a deep frying pan or skillet.

Step 6

Fry the mutton pieces in hot oil for 4-5 minutes or until lightly golden.

Step 7

Remove from the oil and allow to cool completely.

Step 8

In a mixing bowl, mix yogurt, red pepper, cumin, nutmeg powder, all spice powder, chili garlic sauce and salt.

Step 9

Rub this mixture on the fried beef.

Step 10

Cover again and leave for 30 minutes.

Step 11

Wrap the mutton pieces in aluminum foil.

Step 12

Steam for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until meat is tender.

Step 13

Remove from the sheet. Mutton Steam Roast is ready to serve.

Serve hot with bread and mint sauce.

NOTE:

  • When a steamer is not available, a wok less than half full of water is replaced by a metal frame made of stainless steel in the middle of the wok.
  • Place pieces of beef on this frame and cover tightly with a lid.
  • The longer you marinate, the more flavorful the steamed mutton will be.
